Sunset at 7:42 pm. A crescent Moon will make for an ideal first object to observe this evening. The Orion Nebula will still be visible in the southwest. The double star Cor Caroli, wonderful globular cluster M3. Because the Moon won't be too bright, many galaxies, globular clusters and open clusters will also be visible. The Beehive, an open cluster in Cancer, will be observable as well as the Pleiades star cluster in Taurus. Planetary nebulae, like the Ghost of Jupiter and the Cats Eye Nebula will be visible. These are exploded star remnants. Nice observable galaxies like the Sombrerro Galaxy, the Black Eye Galaxy and the Great Andromeda Galaxy will be among the featured objects along with many other beautiful deep sky objects that should be visible weather permitting.
